In December 1999 My husband John suffered an aneurysm bursting in his head. He survived it but the surgery left him disabled and he was forced into an early retirement. When we walked out of the Doctors office after his last evaluation in 2002…we were left with a very bleak future. My story started when I decided to be a stay at home mom. I had a very nice career in technology but couldn’t stand spending just 2 hours a day with my 2.5 year old and seeing my health and husband’s health go bad. Enter Shaklee… At first I was so drawn in by the cleaning products. Being a stay at home mom meant that I am my family’s EPA. I was always looking for non toxic cleaners that actually worked. Back in 2000, I left work & went to the emergency room because of numbness that was progressing down my left arm.  They eventually came up with a diagnosis that I have a genetic disorder that makes me prone to strokes, seizures & progressive dementia.  I had my first seizure the next morning in the hospital, my first stroke about six months later. My mental capacity started to lessen as well with each additional seizure.

Looking back,  I can see how my job performance was slowly suffering as was my social life.  I had another stroke which affected my balance and I ended up having to walk with a cane. My world was getting smaller & smaller, the seizures & strokes continued.  The damage to my mental state was devastating, I couldn't hold a decent conversation, I would simply sit silently & just listen to others. I would stumble over simple words, trying to find them in my mind. I would cry in pure frustration, knowing it was only going to get worse. I spent most of my time, home alone, not wanting to do anything or deal with anyone.

It was last year that my sister, Susan, met Julie Young & was introduced to Shaklee. Susan tried some of the products, including MindWorks. She told me about it & how it was helping her.  She then asked me if I would be willing to give it a try & I said yes.

LYME DISEASE

During the past several years, after realizing that a debilitating arthritic ankle was due to Lyme disease, I changed strategies from focusing on controlling inflammation to fighting an infection and started to see immediate improvement. Without using “conventional" antibiotic protocols for advanced Lyme, I increased my NutriFeron to 4 per day, added d-Lenolate  Olive Leaf extract, colloidal silver, Quantum biofeedback  therapy and of course too many Shaklee supplements to  mention. At my worst, I needed a brace and could barely climb stairs. The pain wasn't responding to any over the counter NSAIDS or Pain Relief. Over the course of a year I had improved dramatically, but still had some evening pain after a full day on my feet, and still needed to be very careful on the stairs. I added VIVIX to my routine sporadically, and started to notice the lessening of pain. However, in January I started to take Vivix every day faithfully. Sometime in mid January I had the urge to start “Spring” housecleaning and rearranging! I was sleeping much better and waking at 5:30 all set to begin my day! Lately, I've been able to come down the stairs in the morning carrying things in both hands without rails or leaning on the wall. Peanut Butter Banana LIFE SHAKE Muffins

Ingredients:
3 mashed bananas
1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt
1/3 cup peanut butter
3 tbsp melted butter
2 eggs
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 cup flaxseed
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground allspice
2 heaping scoops Shaklee Life Shake, Vanilla
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup dark chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Add first five ingredients together, mix well. Add sugars, then eggs, one at a time. In another bowl, mix all dry ingredients together. Mix flour mixture into wet ingredients. Do not over mix. Pour batter into prepared muffin tins. Bake 22-27 minutes until golden brown. Remove from tins and cool on wire rack!

I was born with curvature in my spine called Scoliosis & with lactose intolerance, food & seasonal allergies & was sick very often because my mom didn't really understand what foods were ok for me & back in the 60's the cleaning & personal care products used was never thought about to cause illness. So I was given antibiotics & OTC digestive meds regularly. I was told by a chiropractor in 1985 at 18 years old, that I'd have problems with my back when I had children. I had two children, one in '87 & one '92 & my health problems increased. I was diagnosed with IBS, colitis & artificial food product allergy migraines in '96 when I was so sick I was worried for my life. And then I found Shaklee in '96. Over the years I continued to use Shaklee & I began to learn & understand what my body needed to regain control of my health. But with life & loss over the years, I became depressed & gained over 100 pounds.
